What a great article!

A teacher sat through a day as a student. Here are his thoughts...

Makes me wonder about classes here. What would I take away? Could I cope? I know I would be just as restless... Think about how attentive teachers are at the last faculty meeting...

A day in the life of a data-mined kid...

I heard this last night on Marketplace on NPR. It is amazing how much data we collect on our students. Hopefully it will all work in their favor...

Going Google!

Today the brave BMS teachers came to school bright and early at 7:30 to take the time to learn more about Google Drive, Google Docs and Google Presentations! I went fast and furious but promised to share some my notes via Google! Click on the Google Drive cloud below to link to the presentation:

Mocomi.com is an online kid's magazine that has articles on everything from poetry to science experiments to civics lessons. Some of the articles are to be read as an ebook that you can download onto your computer and some are videos. But all the videos involve reading to get the information (there is no reading aloud option). But it is such I wide variety of information that it should easily engage most students. In addition, teachers can use the the videos or ebooks in the classroom for instruction or remediation. There are a some very simple online games included in the site as well that you could use on your SmartBoard. A great resource!
